Vinyl Care & Removal
Vinyl Aftercare & Durability
The vinyls we use have an exterior lifespan of up to 7 years. They are waterproof and can withstand moisture and the outdoor elements. There are however some factors that play a part in how long a the vinyl will last once it has been applied.
Any type of constant abrasion can eventually cause the vinyl to peel away. Frequently used items such as phones, tablets and laptops tend to suffer a fair amount of wear and tear, which can shorten the lifespan of the decal. Essentially, if it’s well looked after, it will stand the test of time!
When cleaning, avoid scraping or hard scrubbing. If your decal is applied to something that needs to be washed regularly such as a mug, lunch box or water bottle, it should be hand washed only. Do not put them in the dishwasher!
Do not use a jetwash on decals that are applied to your vehicle, as it can cause the vinyl to peel away.
Removing Vinyl
Our vinyls are easy to remove without damaging the surface they are applied to. Simply use your fingernail to lift an edge or corner, and peel it away slowly until it lifts off completely.
If it feels difficult to peel away, use a hairdryer on the lowest setting to apply some gentle heat. This will soften the vinyl and make it much easier to remove.
Any glue residue that may be left behind can be removed with a cleaner that is suitable for the surface it was applied to. Rubbing alcohol or adhesive removers work great, just take care not to damage the surface.
